Brindavan

Occasionally Sathya Sai Baba visits Brindavan, the Centre in Whitefield. Brindavan is situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, about 24 Kms, from the centre of the city. The time taken from Bangalore to Brindavan is about one hour by road from the city central railway station. It is well connected to all parts of India by road, rail and air. The city also receives some international flights from Asian and South East Asian nations. The airport is located midway on the road from Bangalore to Brindavan, and is about 15 Kms away from Brindavan.

Bangalore, is about 3000 metres above the sea level. The climate is pleasant during January and February and again from June to October. November to mid-January are winter months when the days are cool and evenings and nights can be cold. March, April and May are the summer months, with April being quite hot. Rainfall can be expected from end-May to October. The temperature ranges from 22-32 degrees centigrade.

During the last few years, Sathya Sai Baba's stay in Brindavan has been mainly between February to June The Brindavan campus of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is situated here. Whenever Sathya Sai Baba is in Brindavan, Darshan and Bhajans are held but the timings may vary. Since this is a smaller Centre compared to Prashanti Nilayam, accommodation and other facilities in Brindavan are much more limited. There is a canteen and a bookshop in the Centre.

Discourses

Sathya Baba usually gives a discourse at 4:00 pm on festival days. Discourses are translated into English. Morning programmes on festival days often include a musical or dance programme, and end with devotional singing and consecrated food.

Writing to Sathya Sai Baba

There are no intermediaries between devotees and Sathya Sai Baba. Once you have finalised your schedule, some devotees write to Sathya Sai Baba to say that they are coming and are seeking his Darshan and blessings (and whatever else they may wish to write) and then mail it to him.
